THE RULES OF THE U.S.G.A. GOVERN ALL PLAY
The Following Local Rules, Conditions and Definitions Apply.
3. PENALTY AREAS: Play all creeks and lakes parallel to the fairway as Lateral Penalty Areas. Creeks bisecting fairways on holes 3, 9. & 18 are Lateral Penalty Areas under rule 17.
EXCEPTION: HOLE # TWO (2) DIRECT PENALTY AREA. If the first ball is in the water, player has option to use drop area or re-tee the ball on the original teeing ground.
Players who fail to get across may take an adjusted score for handicap purposes along with an X, but will be eliminated from Play of the Day competition unless the score on hole # 2 is not relevant to the event.
4. BEAUTIFICATION AREAS: Five holes (3, 7, 11, 16 and 18) have stone/gravel borders along the out of bounds. Balls resting in the stones should be removed and dropped, no closer to the hole, with no penalty.
5. OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by inside margin of white stakes. In the absence of stakes, O.B. is defined by inside curb of sidewalks and property lines. Penalty: Stroke and Distance or Local OB/Lost Ball Rule.
NOTE: Any items defining Out of Bounds are NOT obstructions. Player must proceed as with an unplayable lie – two club lengths, no nearer the hole, one stroke penalty
A ball which crosses a public road is defined as out of bounds no matter where it comes to rest (e.g. # 7).
6. BALL PLAYED AS IT LIES: The ball shall be played as it lies at all times except as otherwise provided in the Rules of Golf or when posted by a committee consisting of the Chairman, the Rules Chairman and the Play of the Day Chairman.
7. STONES: Stones may be removed from bunkers without penalty.
8. RANGE BALLS: Use of range balls other than in the designated area for practice is not permitted.
9. AERATED HOLES: A ball can be moved within 6” out of aerated holes on the entire course.
